Structural Drafting Technician

Job Description

As a Structural Drafting Technician in Sheffield, you'll play a pivotal role in translating complex engineering designs into detailed drawings. You'll work closely with engineers and architects to create accurate schematics and support the development of innovative projects. We're looking for someone with proficiency in CAD software and a keen eye for detail.

Responsibilities

• Create accurate technical drawings and specifications.
• Work together with the design team on innovative projects.
• Check and verify the accuracy of all drafted documents.
• Assist with calculations related to materials and structural integrity.
• Update and maintain the project drawing register.
• Prepare detailed reports on drafting progress and issues.
• Ensure effective communication with the project team.
• Provide training and mentorship to junior technicians.

Requirements

Education

• HND in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering is a strong advantage

Experience

• 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar role

Technical Skills

• AutoCAD
• Revit

• Problem-solving
• Effective Communication

Languages

• English: Fluent

• Experience in Project Management Software: Familiarity with tools like Microsoft Project for tracking progress.
