Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous Medical Records Specialist who will be responsible for managing patient accounts and ensuring the accuracy of medical records. The ideal candidate will process and submit medical insurance claims while collaborating closely with patients and healthcare professionals to guarantee excellent patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Review and process medical claims and invoices for accuracy.
  • Consolidate and maintain comprehensive records of billing and payment activity.
  • Provide timely updates to patients regarding claim statuses.
  • Prepare reports on billing activities for management review.
  • Stay informed on changes in healthcare regulations and medical billing practices.
  • Assist with training new team members on billing procedures.
  • Evaluate and implement improvements to current billing processes.
  • Ensure all billing practices meet compliance standards.
  • Support patient inquiries and resolve issues concerning their accounts.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient information.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration preferred
Experience
  • 2+ years of experience in medical billing or similar role
Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word)
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding
Soft Skills
  • Problem-solving skills
Certifications
  • Certified Medical Reimbursement Specialist
  • Certified Professional Coder
Languages
  • English: Fluent
