Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Civil Engineering Designer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and overseeing the construction of various civil engineering projects, requiring a thorough understanding of civil engineering principles and excellent technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed designs for civil engineering projects.
  • Ensure all designs meet relevant regulations and standards.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to gather project requirements.
  • Monitor project schedules and budgets.
  • Investigate site conditions and prepare feasibility reports.
  • Provide technical support during the construction phase.
  • Ensure the application of sustainable design practices.
  • Lead design meetings and communicate with team members.
  • Assist in preparing tender documents.
  • Maintain records of project specifications and changes.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
Experience
  • At least 3-5 years of experience in civil engineering design and project management.
Technical Skills
  • AutoCAD
  • Civil 3D
  • Structural Design Software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS)
Soft Skills
  • Problem-solving
  • Communication
Certifications
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license
  • Membership in relevant professional organisations (e.g., ICE or CIHT)
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience with BIM software: Hands-on experience with Building Information Modeling software.
  • Familiarity with relevant UK regulations and standards: Knowledge of UK civil engineering regulations and compliance standards.
