Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Quebracho Tanner to join our team. You will be responsible for tanning and processing quebracho wood to produce high-quality leather. This role requires expertise in traditional tanning methods and a commitment to quality.

Responsibilities

• Effectively manage the tanning process ensuring the highest quality standards.
• Collaborate with team members on production schedules.
• Maintain equipment and report any technical faults.
• Educate junior staff on the tanning techniques and safety protocols.
• Conduct periodic quality checks throughout the tanning process.
• Engage in continuous professional development in tanning technology.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Vocational training in leather technology is preferred

Experience

• Experience with other types of wood tanning is advantageous

Technical Skills

• Understanding of leather grading and quality standards
• Strong problem-solving skills

Soft Skills

• Good physical stamina
• Time management skills

Advantageous

• Familiarity with different leather processing techniques: Experience with techniques such as vegetable tanning and chrome tanning.
• Experience in managing a tanning workshop or team: Prior experience in a supervisory role within a tannery setting.
