Job Description

Join our passionate team as a Teaching Assistant in Special Education. You will work closely with students requiring additional support, assisting in their educational and personal growth while fostering a positive learning atmosphere. Your contributions will be pivotal in ensuring that every student reaches their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Assist students with special educational needs, ensuring their engagement in classroom learning.
  • Help develop and implement IEPs alongside the lead teacher.
  • Provide guidance and support during social interactions and group work.
  • Maintain an orderly and supportive classroom environment.
  • Document and report on student interactions and progress.
  • Work with external professionals to facilitate additional student support.
  • Organise materials and resources for lesson activities.
  • Promote independence and self-advocacy among students with special needs.
  • Adapt lessons and activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Attend relevant training sessions and workshops to stay updated.

Requirements

Education
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • A relevant certification in special education or teaching assistance is preferred.
Experience
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable.
