Job Description

The Photographic Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for repairing and maintaining photographic equipment, including cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience in working with a wide range of photographic equipment and will be able to diagnose and solve mechanical issues.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnosing issues in cameras, lenses, and lighting gear.
  • Performing routine maintenance checks to enhance longevity of equipment.
  • Maintaining thorough documentation of all repairs and customer interactions.
  • Engaging with clients to provide excellent service.
  • Researching and implementing innovative repair techniques.
  • Managing inventory for repair parts and tools.
  • Conducting training for support staff on basic troubleshooting.
  • Participating in team meetings to improve operational effectiveness.

Requirements

Education
  • Apprenticeship in electronic or mechanical engineering or equivalent
Experience
  • Experience in working with a range of photographic equipment, including cameras, lenses, and lighting equipment
Technical Skills
  • Technical Drawing and Schematic Reading
  • Testing Equipment

Advantageous

  • Experience in sales of photography equipment: Background in retail or sales to assist with client inquiries.
  • Knowledge of photographic techniques and lighting: Understanding photography fundamentals to provide better repair service.
