Tax Advisor

Job Description

We are seeking a knowledgeable Tax Advisor to join our Edinburgh office. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of UK tax legislation and proven experience providing tax advice to both individuals and businesses. You'll be responsible for managing client relationships, preparing tax returns, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. A proactive approach to identifying tax-saving opportunities is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on VAT, PAYE, and corporate tax matters.
• Maintain detailed and organised records of client tax data and correspondence.
• Support the training and mentoring of junior tax staff.
• Participate in business development initiatives to attract new clients.
• Conduct tax health checks and audits for existing clients.
• Liaise with legal advisors to ensure tax compliance with legal structures.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
• Master's degree in Finance or Taxation is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of demonstrated experience in tax advisory roles
