Job Description

As a Library Assistant, your primary role will be to provide outstanding support to library patrons. You will assist in shelving materials, aiding users with inquiries, and maintaining an orderly environment to ensure a pleasant library experience.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately shelving and organising library materials.
  • Guiding patrons in using library catalog systems and other resources.
  • Ensuring study areas and shelves are clean and orderly.
  • Handling check-in/check-out processes and maintaining accurate records.
  • Participating in inventory checks and shelf-reading.
  • Helping to set up for library events.
  • Offering basic tech support, e.g., printing assistance.
  • Working with library staff to ensure efficient daily operations.

Requirements

Education
  • No specific qualifications required, but GCSEs in English and Mathematics are preferred.
Experience
  • No prior experience required; customer service experience is advantageous.
