Special Education Teacher

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher who is passionate about literacy and supporting diverse learners. You will work closely with students, parents, and staff to create individualized education plans and implement effective teaching strategies.

Responsibilities

• Engage in ongoing assessment and evaluation to drive instructional decisions.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support student needs.
• Provide training and support to other educators on evidence-based reading strategies.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field
• Master's degree in Special Education is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in special education or literacy instruction

Certifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) certification is a plus

Languages

• Familiarity with assistive technology: Experience using technology to support learning and engagement.
