Job Description

A Hospice Registered Nurse (Hospice RN) provides specialised nursing care to terminally ill patients in a hospice setting. They offer compassionate support and ensure the comfort of patients during their end-of-life journey. Your role will be pivotal in maintaining the quality of life for our patients and providing support to their families.

Responsibilities

  • Develop personalised care plans based on individual patient assessments.
  • Monitor and document patient progress and treatment outcomes.
  • Lead interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient care strategies.
  • Provide guidance and support to nursing assistants and volunteers.
  • Evaluate and manage pain relief strategies effectively.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations within the care environment.

Requirements

Education
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the UK
  • Valid certification in hospice and palliative care nursing
  • Completion of a recognised nursing program
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
  • Additional certifications such as ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) or PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) may be advantageous.
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse, preferably with direct experience in hospice, palliative care, or end-of-life care settings.
