Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Bit Welder to join our dynamic team. The primary responsibility includes welding and repairing bits used in drilling operations within the mining industry. The ideal candidate should have experience in welding and possess strong attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Operate welding equipment safely and efficiently.
• Conduct thorough inspections of all welds.
• Train new staff in welding techniques and safety practices.
• Assist in sourcing materials required for welding tasks.
• Maintain an inventory of welding supplies and tools.

Requirements

Education

• Valid Welder certification (e.g., City & Guilds or equivalent)
• Secondary school education or equivalent

Experience

• Prior experience in welding, preferably in a metal fabrication or mining industry, is required.

Technical Skills

• Proficient in various welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick)
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Knowledge of different metals and alloys

Soft Skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good teamwork skills

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with bit welding or similar drilling equipment: Hands-on experience in welding components used in drilling applications.
• Knowledge of welding codes and standards: Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to welding practices.
