Job Description

As a Rail Car Repairer, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and efficiency of our rail transport services. You will be responsible for performing inspections, repairs, and maintenance on various rail cars to ensure they meet safety standards.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out inspections and troubleshooting on rail cars.
  • Repair or replace faulty components and systems.
  • Maintain records of all service and repair activities.
  • Work closely with engineers to resolve complex issues.
  • Educate team members on best practices in rail car maintenance.
  • Manage inventory of parts and tools needed for repairs.
  • Monitor safety protocols and promote a safe working environment.

Requirements

Education
  • City and Guilds in Rail Maintenance or equivalent
  • Advanced certifications are advantageous
Experience
  • 3+ years in a mechanical or rail engineering environment
Technical Skills
  • Hydraulic systems knowledge
  • Diagnostic tools proficiency
