Job Description

Join our team in Aberdeen as an Urban Planner, where you will play a crucial role in shaping sustainable urban environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of urban design principles and a passion for community development. You will work closely with local councils and stakeholders to create plans that enhance the livability and functionality of urban spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Design urban spaces prioritising sustainability and community needs.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing planning applications.
  • Conduct environmental assessments of proposed developments.
  • Engage with community groups to ensure plans reflect local priorities.
  • Prepare detailed reports on planning trends and best practices.
  • Coordinate with local government and regulatory bodies to obtain approvals.
  • Advise on urban renewal and redevelopment projects.
  • Create visual representations of planning proposals for public engagement.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning or related discipline
  • Master's degree in Planning or related field is a plus
Experience
  • 5+ years of experience in urban planning or community development
