Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Substation Inspector to monitor and maintain the functionality of electrical substations throughout the UK. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in the electrical industry, specifically in inspections and compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on substation equipment.
• Monitor and maintain equipment performance to enhance operational efficiency.
• Prepare detailed reports based on inspection findings.
• Liaise with contractors for repairs and upgrades as required.
• Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations at all times.
• Assist in emergency response procedures as necessary.
• Implement best practices for safety and efficiency in operations.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field
• Relevant professional certifications preferred

Experience

• Experience in substation inspection and maintenance

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in SCADA systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Soft Skills

• Analytical thinking
• Ability to work under pressure

Certifications

• Chartered Engineer status preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with protection relays and testing equipment: Hands-on experience in working with protection systems and associated testing instruments.
