Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Educational Counselor to provide guidance and support to our students. You will conduct individual and group counseling sessions, help develop strategies to address academic challenges, and advocate for students' needs.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct one-on-one consultation sessions with students to identify their needs and challenges.
  • Create customized action plans to enhance students' academic performance and emotional well-being.
  • Work in partnership with parents and guardians to provide support and resources.
  • Lead workshops on stress management and study skills.
  • Utilize data from assessments to inform counseling strategies.
  • Maintain a resource library for students on career options and educational pathways.
  • Participate in community outreach initiatives to promote mental health and educational resources.
  • Support school staff in implementing inclusive practices for diverse student populations.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or a related field
  • Master’s degree is an advantage
Experience
  • Experience implementing social and emotional learning programmes.
Technical Skills
  • Experience working with diverse student populations
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and online counselling tools
Soft Skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong facilitation skills
Certifications
  • Certified School Counselor (CSC) certification
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience with crisis intervention and management: Ability to respond effectively to urgent student needs and crises.
  • Experience with restorative justice practices: Knowledge in implementing restorative approaches to conflict resolution.
