Responsibilities

  • Review market conditions and their impacts on lending practices.
  • Be an active participant in training sessions to develop underwriting skills and knowledge.
  • Ensure adherence to ethical standards in the underwriting process.
  • Provide ongoing feedback to improve the application pipeline and customer experience.
  • Keep abreast of technology trends in mortgage underwriting to enhance efficiency.
  • Guide junior staff on underwriting procedures and best practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, or a related field
  • Professional certifications in mortgage underwriting (e.g., Certified Mortgage Underwriter) are advantageous
Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in mortgage underwriting
