Job Description

The Flight Nurse will play a vital role in the aviation industry, providing medical assistance and care to patients during air ambulance transport. This challenging position requires quick decision-making, strong clinical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality care to patients during air transport, ensuring their safety and comfort.
  • Keep thorough documentation of patient conditions and treatments administered.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals during patient handovers.
  • Perform necessary medical procedures as part of the transport team.
  • Assist in developing protocols for improved patient care during flights.
  • Review and maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment.
  • Train new staff members in flight procedures and protocols.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development opportunities.
  • Act as a liaison between the medical team and the operational crew.

Requirements

Education
  • Registered Nurse qualification
  • Advanced clinical training preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in an emergency department or critical care setting required.
Technical Skills
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Pre-hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS)
Soft Skills

Certifications
  • Current NMC registration
  • Valid driver's license and passport
