Health and Safety Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Health and Safety Officer to ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and to promote a strong safety culture within our engineering team. You will conduct audits, implement safety policies, and provide training sessions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and report on health and safety performance metrics.
• Prepare and deliver health and safety training sessions.
• Coordinate with external safety consultants and regulatory agencies.
• Advise on the safe use of machinery and equipment.
• Encourage employee participation in health and safety initiatives.
• Keep abreast of industry best practices in health and safety.
• Participate in safety audits and ensure regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Education

• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
• Suitable degree in Safety Management or Environmental Health is advantageous

Experience

• 3+ years in health and safety management within an engineering context

Technical Skills

• Environmental policies
• Accident investigation

Certifications

• IOSH Leading Safely
• First Aid at Work Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with health and safety audits: Experience in conducting and leading health and safety audits.
