Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Gear Hobber to join our experienced team. The Gear Hobber will be responsible for the setup, operation, and maintenance of gear hobbing machines to produce precision gears for various industries. The right candidate should have a solid understanding of gear hobbing principles, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate hobbing machines in accordance with engineering specifications.
  • Interpret engineering blueprints and drawings effectively.
  • Perform regular maintenance on equipment to ensure reliability.
  • Select and adjust tools and gears fittingly for each task.
  • Monitor production quality and perform inspections regularly.
  • Document and maintain accurate production logs.
  • Follow stringent safety procedures to uphold work environment standards.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve production targets.
  • Assist in the troubleshooting and repair of equipment.
  • Support training and mentoring of new operators.

Requirements

Education
  • Completion of a relevant apprenticeship programme is desirable
  • Vocational training in machining or mechanical engineering is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related field with a focus on gear hobbing operations.
