Job Description

As an Oyster Picker at Sustainable Seafood Co., you will be responsible for collecting oysters from designated beds along our coastal farms. Your role is crucial in selecting high-quality oysters while adhering to safety and environmental regulations.

Responsibilities

• Harvest oysters from designated areas in the ocean.
• Sort and clean oysters for quality assurance.
• Follow safety regulations while working in marine environments.
• Keep harvesting tools and equipment in optimal condition.
• Participate in environmental sustainability initiatives.
• Help train new team members on best harvesting practices.
• Report findings from daily harvests to the Farm Manager.
• Work cohesively with colleagues to achieve daily targets.
• Handle all products with care to maintain quality.
• Maintain a positive attitude while working in a demanding environment.

Requirements

Education

• No formal qualifications required

Experience

• No previous experience required; experience in a similar role is advantageous.

Technical Skills

• Physical fitness and stamina

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• First aid certification: Having a valid first aid certificate is highly regarded.
