Safety Officer

Job Description

We are seeking a proactive Safety Officer to join our Plymouth team. This role involves ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and implementing effective safety measures. The ideal candidate will have experience in environmental protection and a passion for promoting safety in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Manage the health and safety management system, ensuring documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Engage with employees to promote safety awareness and cultural change.
• Provide input for health and safety budgets and resource allocation.
• Monitor and report on the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives.
• Evaluate workplace hazards and recommend improvements.
• Maintain records of training and certification for all staff.

Requirements

Education

• NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety
• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field is preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in health and safety roles, ideally in environmental contexts
