Job Description

We are looking for a meticulous Pit Recorder to accurately document excavation data and maintain comprehensive records of findings. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail and a solid understanding of archaeological principles.

Responsibilities

  • Meticulously record excavation data and findings.
  • Support the setup and organization of excavation sites.
  • Collect and document samples and artefacts accurately.
  • Work with archaeologists to survey and document features.
  • Create reports and visual representations of findings.
  • Collaborate with the team to address any site-related challenges.
  • Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Archaeology or related field
Experience
  • Proven experience in archaeological fieldwork
Technical Skills
  • Geospatial Data Collection
  • Ground Penetrating Radar
Soft Skills

Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience using Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR): Hands-on experience with GPR technology is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with historical artefacts: Knowledge of dating techniques and historical significance of different artefacts.
