Clinical Psychologist

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Psychologist to join our team in Sheffield. The role involves assessing and treating individuals experiencing mental health challenges, utilising your clinical expertise to develop tailored therapeutic interventions. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support clients in their journey toward recovery.

Responsibilities

• Lead psychological assessments and establish rapport with clients.
• Implement treatment strategies that address individual client goals.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans.
• Facilitate therapy sessions, ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Keep detailed notes on client progress and adjust treatments accordingly.
• Provide psychoeducation to clients and their families.
• Engage in peer supervision and enhance professional skills.
• Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives.

Requirements

Education

• Postgraduate diploma in Clinical Psychology or equivalent
• Experience in CAMHS or adult mental health services is preferred

Experience

• Minimum 2 years of supervised clinical experience

Technical Skills

• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
• Group therapy facilitation

Soft Skills

• Active listening
• Teamwork

Advantageous

• Familiarity with DBT techniques: Knowledge of Dialectical Behavior Therapy approaches for emotion regulation.
• Experience in a community mental health setting: Previous roles in community or outreach programmes.
