Environmental Policy Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Policy Specialist to join our team in Wakefield. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing policies that promote sustainability, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive initiatives that minimise our environmental impact. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in environmental law, policy development, and project management. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to advocate for sustainable practices and help shape our environmental strategy.

Responsibilities

• Review and refine strategies for environmental sustainability.
• Build relationships with regulatory bodies and community stakeholders.
• Identify and mitigate environmental risks within the organisation.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of sustainability programs and initiatives.
• Report findings and progress to senior management.
• Stay current on trends in environmental policy and sustainable practices.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Policy, or related field
• Master's degree in Public Policy or related field is a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in environmental compliance or regulation

• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor Certificate
