Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Fixed-Wing Transport Aircraft Specialist to join our Birmingham team. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe operation, maintenance, and repair of our fleet of aircraft. Your expertise is crucial in maintaining operational efficiency and compliance with aviation regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine inspections and oversee repairs on fixed-wing aircraft.
  • Implement safety checks and aviation protocols during maintenance.
  • Manage technical documentation and maintenance records.
  • Coordinate with external agencies and authorities for compliance audits.
  • Participate in training programmes for junior maintenance staff.
  • Ensure the workshop is equipped with the necessary tools and equipment.

Requirements

Education
  • Valid UK Civil Aviation Authority Aircraft Maintenance Engineer License (EASA Part-66)
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Aeronautical Engineering or relevant field
Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance and repair.
Technical Skills
  • Comprehensive knowledge of fixed-wing transport aircraft systems and components.
  • Proficiency in aircraft diagnostic techniques.
Soft Skills

  • Communication Skills
Certifications
  • Additional certifications in aircraft systems preferred
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience with specific fixed-wing transport aircraft models: Specific experience with Airbus A400M, Boeing C-17, or Lockheed C-130 Hercules models would be beneficial.
  • Project management experience: Experience in managing maintenance projects or teams is a plus.
