Job Description

As a Biological Science Teacher specialising in algology, you will deliver lessons focusing on the study of algae, their structure, growth, and ecological significance. You will inspire students to explore the diverse roles of algal species in our environment and economy.

Responsibilities

  • Engage students in hands-on experiments and laboratory work related to algal research.
  • Facilitate discussions on the ecological impacts of algae and their importance in various ecosystems.
  • Collaborate with other faculty members to enhance interdisciplinary learning.
  • Organize field trips or guest lectures to expose students to real-world applications of algology.
  • Develop assessments and examinations to measure students' understanding of key concepts.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences, Botany, or related field
  • Teaching qualification (e.g. QTS, PGCE) preferred
Experience
  • Minimum 2 years of teaching experience in biological sciences or a related field
Technical Skills
  • Expertise in algology and plant biology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Learning Management Systems

  • Strong organisational and time management skills
Languages
