Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Tie Layer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for laying and securing ties on railway tracks to ensure safe and efficient train travel. This is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Prepare surfaces and areas for laying ties safely.
• Measure and align ties to ensure the correct positioning.
• Assist in loading and unloading materials and equipment.
• Monitor working conditions to ensure adherence to safety measures.
• Document daily work activities and progress accurately.
• Assist with set up and clean-up of work sites.
• Work effectively in various weather conditions and challenging environments.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• 2-3 years of experience in railway construction or a related field

Technical Skills

• Heavy machinery operation
• Safety protocol adherence

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Communication

Certifications

• First Aid certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience managing and supervising a team of tie layers: Previous leadership experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of railway safety regulations: Understanding of the laws and guidelines governing railway construction.
