Job Description
As a Blood Bank Technologist, you will screen, collect, and process blood donations to ensure their safety for transfusion. You will also perform essential testing on donor and patient samples to determine blood type and compatibility.
Responsibilities
Screen and collect blood donations and perform processing duties.
Conduct testing to confirm blood type and compatibility.
Train new staff and provide mentorship opportunities.
Participate in departmental quality control and assurance activities.
Ensure accurate documentation of testing and compliance with protocols.
Requirements
Education
Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
Certification from a recognized accrediting organization (e.g. ASCP, AMT)
Experience
2+ years of relevant experience in blood banking or a transfusion service
