Join our dynamic team as a Surveying and Mapping Technician, where you will play a critical role in creating detailed maps and charts. Your work will involve collecting and interpreting geographical information, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our mapping processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain maps for various projects using GIS technologies.
• Work alongside cartographers to develop illustrative geospatial representations.
• Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals that involve geospatial inputs.
• Manage project timelines to ensure efficient delivery of mapping services.
• Conduct data validation and ensure accuracy in mapping outputs.
• Maintain accurate records of data sources and metadata.
• Support the implementation of new GIS technologies within the team.
• Collaborate with external partners and stakeholders for project success.
• Facilitate workshops and discussions on geospatial awareness.
• Provide insights into market trends in geospatial technology.

Requirements

Education

• Degree in Geomatics/Geographic Information Science
• Postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field are a plus

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in cartography or geospatial analysis

• Spatial Data Management
• Mapping Software Proficiency

Certifications

• GIS Professional (GISP)

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with 3D Mapping: Hands-on experience in producing 3D visualisations using GIS software.
