Blast Furnace Helper

Job Description

We are looking for a Blast Furnace Helper to support our operations in the steel industry. This role involves assisting with various tasks related to blast furnace operations, ensuring safety and adherence to protocols while working on the shop floor.

Responsibilities

• Support the furnace crew in daily operations.
• Assist in inspection and preventive maintenance of equipment.
• Help in the documentation of operational data.
• Participate in troubleshooting furnace issues with the team.
• Contribute to team's maintenance of high operational standards.
• Engage in teamwork activities and training workshops.
• Be proactive in reporting safety concerns or hazards.
• Assist in the setup and breakdown of operational processes.
• Collaborate with the safety officer to enhance workspace safety.
• Provide logistical support as needed during peak operations.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent

Experience

• Some experience in an industrial environment is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of safety protocols
• Basic computer skills

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving
• Time management

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Previous experience in a blast furnace environment: Experience working in furnace operations will be beneficial.
• Forklift or crane operator certification: Certification is a plus for supporting material handling tasks.
