Job Description

As a Medical Equipment Preparer, you will play a crucial role in supporting surgical teams by ensuring all medical instruments and equipment are properly sterilised and available for use. Your responsibilities will encompass preparing the operating room, maintaining a safe environment, and assisting with essential procedures. We seek a detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced medical setting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational readiness of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Support the surgical team with sterilisation protocols and procedures.
  • Document and maintain inventory of surgical supplies.
  • Assist with the setup of specialised surgical tools and equipment.
  • Conduct regular checks to confirm equipment is functioning correctly.
  • Participate in safety audits and risk assessments in the operating room.
  • Collaborate with nursing staff to optimise patient care.
  • Provide technical assistance during surgeries as required.
  • Maintain professional relationships with all surgical team members.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Completion of a surgical technician program or equivalent is preferred
Experience
  • At least 2 years of experience in a surgical environment preferred.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology

Certifications
  • Certification as a Surgical Technician
