Construction and Building Inspector

Job Description

As a Construction and Building Inspector, you'll be pivotal in ensuring the safety and compliance of residential and commercial properties. This role requires attention to detail, a deep understanding of building codes and regulations, and excellent communication skills for reporting findings.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the structural integrity of buildings and assess safety features.
• Provide expert advice on maintenance and improvements based on inspection results.
• Utilise technology and tools for accurate assessments, including digital cameras and inspection software.
• Communicate with clients to schedule inspections and keep them informed about the process.
• Develop strategies for improving inspection processes and client communications.

Requirements

Education

• Degree or equivalent in Building Surveying, Construction, or related field
• Certification or membership with a professional body (e.g., Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) is preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in real estate inspection or a related field.

Technical Skills

• Attention to detail
• Strong observation and analytical skills
• Knowledge of building codes and regulations
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Soft Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Time management and organizational skills

Advantageous

• Experience in conducting energy efficiency assessments: Ability to evaluate and recommend improvements for energy efficiency.
