Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Deaf Education Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of deaf students and provide them with quality education.

Responsibilities

  • Tailor lesson plans to meet the unique needs of deaf students, incorporating BSL where necessary.
  • Facilitate communication between deaf students and their hearing peers.
  • Implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) effectively.
  • Encourage social and emotional development in a supportive environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student performance and adapt teaching accordingly.
  • Engage in regular communication with parents and caregivers about student progress.
  • Participate in team-based planning with other educators and specialists.
  • Remain current on educational technologies beneficial for deaf education.
  • Support students in achieving their personal and academic goals through innovative teaching methods.
  • Foster an environment of respect and encouragement.

Requirements

Education
  • Master's degree in Deaf Education or a related field is preferred
Experience
  • Experience in developing and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) is advantageous.

Languages
  • English: Fluent
  • British Sign Language (BSL): Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience in collaborating with speech therapists and audiologists: Working experience with specialists to support deaf students' communication skills.
