Job Description
As a Ferry Boat Captain, you will be responsible for the safe navigation and operation of our ferry services. Your role involves ensuring compliance with maritime regulations, managing crew members, and providing excellent service to our passengers.
Responsibilities
Direct crew activities and manage ferry operations effectively.
Assess and adapt to changing conditions on the water quickly.
Engage with passengers to enhance their travel experience.
Document and track maintenance schedules for the ferry.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations pertaining to maritime operations.
Participate in community outreach to promote ferry services.
Utilise navigation equipment and radar systems effectively.
Ensure that all safety equipment is functional and up to date.
Requirements
Education
Maritime Engineering or related field is advantageous
Experience
Experience with passenger ferries is advantageous.
Technical Skills
Emergency management
Certifications
Additional maritime safety training certificates
Languages
French: Conversational
Advantageous
Ability to communicate in additional languages: Proficiency in languages such as Spanish or German is a plus.
Experience with customer service in maritime settings: Background in providing excellent passenger experiences.
