Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Transportation Inspector to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of steamboats, ensuring they meet all safety regulations and operational standards. This role is essential in maintaining the integrity of our maritime transportation system.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough inspections of watercraft to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Prepare detailed reports of inspections and provide actionable recommendations.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders about safety measures.
• Ensure documentation and certification processes are adhered to.
• Participate in safety drills and emergency response training.
• Stay updated on maritime laws and regulations.

Requirements

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Maritime or mechanical engineering experience preferred

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in steamboat inspection or related field

Technical Skills

• Attention to detail
• Electronic inspection software

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication skills

Certifications

• Steamboat inspection certification preferred

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with steamboat repairs and maintenance: Knowledge of steamboat repair processes and technologies.
• Knowledge of maritime regulations and standards: Understanding of UK maritime safety regulations.
• Experience with electronic data collection and reporting: Proficient in using electronic tools for data collection.
