Job Description

We are looking for a skilled Structural Steel Estimator to join our growing team in Birmingham. In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs and timelines for various structural steel projects while collaborating closely with project managers and engineers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for multiple projects simultaneously.
• Utilise estimating software to improve accuracy and efficiency in cost assessments.
• Engage in strategic discussions about project feasibility and cost-effective solutions.
• Document and report on estimating assumptions and methodologies.
• Provide feedback during the tendering process and engage in client meetings.
• Adapt estimates based on changing project requirements or scope adjustments.
• Stay updated on industry trends affecting pricing and estimating practices.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to secure competitive pricing from suppliers.
• Participate in post-project reviews to improve future estimating processes.
• Contribute to the development of internal estimating standards and practices.

Requirements

Education

• Relevant degree or diploma in engineering or construction

Experience

• At least 3 years in structural steel estimating

Languages

• English: Fluent
