Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Customs Broker to join our dynamic customs clearance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with customs regulations, managing import/export processes, and processing necessary documentation for shipments.

Responsibilities

• Classify goods and calculate appropriate duties and taxes.
• Manage licenses, permits, and relevant documentation for customs clearance.
• Provide advice and guidance on customs procedures to internal and external parties.
• Ensure compliance with trade agreements and international regulations.
• Monitor and assess customs compliance activities to identify areas for improvement.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including regulatory bodies.
• Collaborate with the operations team to ensure smooth logistics operations.
• Assist in training junior staff on customs compliance topics.
• Prepare reports on customs compliance status for management review.
• Participate in audits and inspections by customs authorities as necessary.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics or related field
• Additional certifications in international trade preferred

Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in customs brokerage or a related field.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of import/export processes

Certifications

• Advanced Diploma in Custom Compliance
• International Trade Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of international trade agreements: Familiarity with various trade agreements and regulations.
• Experience with EDI software: Proficiency in using Electronic Data Interchange systems for trade compliance.
