Probate Judge

Job Description

As a Probate Judge, you will oversee the legal administration of estates and ensure that wills are executed in accordance with the law. You will work closely with legal professionals, financial institutions, and family members to resolve disputes and ensure fair distribution of assets.

Responsibilities

• Conduct public hearings for estate administration and ensure fairness in proceedings.
• Evaluate evidence presented by parties involved in disputes and arrive at just conclusions.
• Engage in mediation efforts where appropriate to resolve conflicts amicably.
• Demonstrate leadership during court sessions and manage courtroom procedures.
• Contribute to the drafting of legal opinions and formal statements on case outcomes.

Requirements

Education

• Qualified solicitor or barrister with a specialisation in probate law

Experience

• Experience in estate administration, probate law, and wills and trusts
