Job Description

The Hospital Chaplain provides vital spiritual and emotional support to patients, families, and staff members, helping them navigate difficult times. This role involves conducting religious services, offering guidance, and collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure holistic care.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to calls for spiritual assistance from patients and staff.
  • Offer emotional support to families during critical situations.
  • Facilitate memorial services and assist in planning for end-of-life care.
  • Document all chaplaincy activities and patient interactions accurately.
  • Foster relationships within the community to enhance the hospital's spiritual support network.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
  • Monitor and address the spiritual care needs of diverse patient populations.
  • Contribute to the overall mission and vision of the healthcare facility.

Requirements

Education
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Theology, Divinity, or related field
  • Certification in Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) preferred
Experience
  • Experience working with diverse populations and familiarity with medical terminology
