Job Description

A Log Carrier Operator is responsible for efficiently operating log carrier equipment within the logging industry, ensuring the safe transport of logs from forested areas to designated processing or storage sites. This role requires great attention to detail and adherence to safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate log carrier trucks to transport timber from designated forest sites to processing facilities.
• Conduct daily pre-trip inspections to identify and report any maintenance needs.
• Ensure safe loading and unloading of logs while following weight limits.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch to coordinate pick-up and delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate records of delivered loads, mileage, and fuel consumption.
• Adhere to company guidelines for sustainable logging practices and environmental conservation.
• Collaborate with logistics teams to optimise transport efficiency.
• Follow all traffic regulations and company safety policies.
• Provide support to the operations manager as needed.
• Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills.

Requirements

Education

Experience

• Prior experience in operating heavy machinery or similar equipment is preferred.
