Job Description

As a Lighterman, you will play a vital role in navigating and operating various light vessels and barges. Your expertise ensures the safe transportation of goods while assisting in the operations of our waterways.

Responsibilities

• Navigate and operate various light vessels and barges in accordance with safety regulations.
• Ensure safe loading and unloading practices for all cargo transported.
• Maintain vessel machinery, including engines and navigation systems.
• Adjust navigation plans in response to changing weather conditions.
• Work collaboratively with other crew members for seamless operations.
• Remain compliant with health and safety standards at all times.
• Document voyage details, including cargo information and maintenance logs.
• Assist in emergency response procedures and participate in safety drills.
• Provide quality customer service to all clients and passengers.
• Engage in continual learning about new maritime regulations and best practices.

Requirements

Education

• Full UK driving license

Experience

• Proven track record of successful waterway operations
