Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Seeing Eye Dog Trainer to join our passionate team. Your role will involve training and nurturing guide dogs to assist visually impaired individuals in their daily activities. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for dogs and a commitment to enhancing the lives of those they assist.

Responsibilities

  • Train and assess guide dogs to assist visually impaired individuals in their daily lives.
  • Deliver obedience and specialised training to dogs.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations of dogs' suitability for guide dog training.
  • Provide ongoing support to visually impaired clients on handling their guide dogs.
  • Collaborate with other trainers and staff to ensure high training standards.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation related to training activities.
  • Contribute to the overall improvement and growth of the organisation's training programmes.

Requirements

Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Higher qualifications in animal behaviour or dog training are advantageous.
Experience
  • Familiarity with guide dog training is advantageous.
