Yarder

Job Description

We are seeking a proficient Yarder to oversee yard operations within our textile manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in managing workflow and will be responsible for the effective handling of textile materials to optimise production processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead the management of yard operations focused on textile products.
• Ensure accurate processing and tracking of materials in and out of the yard.
• Work closely with management to enhance yard efficiency.
• Maintain records of inventory levels and report discrepancies.
• Facilitate the training of yard staff in compliance with operational standards.
• Assist in the planning and execution of yard layout changes.
• Oversee the maintenance of yard equipment and tools.
• Act as a liaison between different departments regarding operational needs.
• Identify potential improvements in yard operations.
• Collaborate on safety audits and risk assessments.

Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Logistics or Supply Chain Management qualification preferred

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in the textile or related field

Technical Skills

• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS)
• Material Handling Equipment

Soft Skills

• Organizational Skills
• Adaptability

Certifications

• Warehouse Safety Certification
• First Aid Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience in Inventory Management: Knowledge of inventory management and stock control techniques.
• Familiarity with ERP Systems: Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems used in manufacturing.
