As a Welfare Interviewer, you will conduct interviews with individuals seeking assistance, assessing their eligibility for various welfare programs. Your role will involve gathering essential information, analysing cases, and making well-informed decisions to ensure that support is delivered efficiently and effectively.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate applicants for welfare assistance.
  • Analyse and document personal and financial histories of applicants.
  • Provide clear information about available welfare programs.
  • Assist clients in navigating the application process and resolving issues.
  • Regularly update case management software with applicant information.
  • Attend training sessions on policy changes and best practices.
  • Work with community agencies to refer clients to additional resources.
  • Monitor applications and provide follow-up where necessary.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Additional certification in social services is advantageous
  • Microsoft Office Suite Competent in using Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Database Management Systems Basic knowledge of database management tools.
  • Communication Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical Thinking Ability to analyse and evaluate complex information.
  • Empathy Sensitivity towards the circumstances of others.
Advantageous
  • Knowledge of local community resources: Familiarity with local support organisations and services.
  • Experience working with vulnerable groups: Comfort and understanding in dealing with sensitive cases.
