Job Description

We are seeking an Occupational Health and Safety Specialist to ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a healthy working environment. The successful candidate will conduct inspections, identify hazards, and provide recommendations for safety improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive risk assessments to identify workplace hazards.
  • Assist in developing emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Engage in safety audits and compliance checks.
  • Lead safety training sessions for employees across various departments.
  • Maintain records of inspections, incidents, and compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with external bodies for safety certifications and audits.
  • Advise on Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.
  • Participate in safety meetings and contribute to company safety culture.
  • Promote a proactive approach to health and safety management.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or a related field
  • NEBOSH certificate is preferred
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational safety or related field.
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and health and safety regulations.
  • Proficiency in report writing and documentation.
Soft Skills
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Certifications
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety
  • IOSH Managing Safely
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience in a regulatory or enforcement role.: Previous work in health and safety enforcement agencies is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of industry-specific safety standards.: Familiarity with specific safety regulations related to manufacturing or construction.
