Job Description

We are looking for a Certified Histologic Technician to join our dynamic team. This role will involve performing various laboratory procedures related to tissue sample preparation, slide staining, and microscopic examination. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the standards of our histology laboratory.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and process tissue specimens for histological examination.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate laboratory records of test procedures and results.
  • Utilize various histological techniques including immunohistochemistry and special staining.
  • Ensure lab cleanliness and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to assess and improve laboratory procedures.
  • Train new staff members in laboratory techniques and safety protocols.
  • Monitor the performance of laboratory equipment and arrange for maintenance as needed.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to team discussions about quality improvement.
  • Implement best practices in histology to ensure optimal laboratory performance.
  • Stay informed about industry changes and continue professional development.

Requirements

Education
  • Degree in Biology, Laboratory Science or related field preferred.
Experience
  • Experience working in a research or clinical laboratory is advantageous.
