Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Soil and Plant Scientist, with a strong background in genetics and plant breeding, to join our research team. You will play a key role in developing new plant species with desired traits, contributing to the advancement of agricultural practices.

Responsibilities

  • Design breeding programs focused on enhancing crop yields and resistance to diseases.
  • Utilise statistical methods and software for data analysis to evaluate breeding progress.
  • Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects within the organisation to develop innovative solutions.
  • Manage and maintain detailed records of breeding experiments and results.
  • Present research outcomes to stakeholders and at relevant conferences to disseminate knowledge.
  • Participate in external workshops and seminars to enhance practical applications of research.
  • Conduct field trials and oversee data collection processes.
  • Contribute to grant writing and fundraising efforts for ongoing research projects.

Requirements

Education
  • PhD in Genetics, Plant Breeding, or a related field
  • Master's degree with extensive relevant experience is accepted
Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in plant breeding or relevant research
