Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support our teaching staff and contribute to the educational development of our students in Birmingham. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education and the ability to engage with students effectively.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate group work and collaborative learning experiences.
• Provide one-on-one support for students requiring additional help.
• Assist with the administration of assessments and tests.
• Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
• Help promote the school's ethos and values within the classroom.
• Work with external specialists as required to support student learning.
• Foster positive relationships with students to encourage their engagement.

Requirements

Education

• GCSEs in Maths and English (Grade C or above)
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is highly desirable

Experience

• Experience in early years education is beneficial

Technical Skills

• IT Skills
• First Aid Certification

Soft Skills

• Patience
• Teamwork

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Knowledge of child development theories: Understanding of various child development strategies and their implementation.
• Experience in supporting students with behavioural challenges: Experience working with students who need additional behavioural support.
