Job Description

As a Preschool Intervention Specialist, you will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and developmental needs of preschool-aged children with special needs. Collaborating closely with teachers, parents, and allied professionals, you will develop personalized intervention strategies to help these children reach their full potential.

Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate the learning needs of children with special requirements.
  • Design and implement tailored lesson plans to support individual learning journeys.
  • Collaborate continuously with parents and colleagues to enhance the educational experience.
  • Provide behavioural support and encourage positive social interactions.
  • Evaluate children's developmental milestones and adjust IEPs accordingly.
  • Document progress through comprehensive reports and feedback.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders to foster a cohesive support system for each child.
  • Facilitate transition processes for children entering mainstream education.
  • Participate in training for current educational methodologies.
  • Contribute to a positive, nurturing classroom culture.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field
  • Postgraduate qualification in Special Education is advantageous
Experience
  • 3+ years of experience in special education settings.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of child development theories
  • Behaviour management techniques

Certifications
  • First Aid and CPR Certified
Languages
  • English: Fluent

Advantageous

  • Experience in developing sensory integration strategies: Ability to create environments conducive to sensory learning.
  • Training in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis): Knowledge of ABA principles to support children's behaviour and learning progress.
