Job Description

The Yam Curer is responsible for the curing and processing of yams to ensure their quality and maintain freshness. This role demands expertise in yam curing techniques and the ability to uphold optimal curing conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively cure yams following established techniques to maximise quality.
  • Regularly check and adjust curing conditions to optimise freshness.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of yams for quality assurance.
  • Accurately package and label products for timely distribution.
  • Keep detailed logs of curing processes and stock levels.
  • Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee inventory of necessary supplies and machinery.
  • Work with colleagues to enhance curing methods and product outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain high-quality control standards.
  • Engage in ongoing training to enhance curing knowledge and skills.

Requirements

Education
  • Certification in food safety regulations
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
Experience
  • 2+ years in food processing or yam curing.
Technical Skills
  • Knowledge of relevant machinery
  • Understanding of food safety regulations

Languages
  • English: Fluent
